The pursuit of business and social goals in “hybrid” social enterprises was a key theme in the second annual Social Entrepreneurship Day, on December 6th in the Student Union’s Cape Cod Lounge. Coordinated by the Isenberg-based Berthiaume Center for Entrepreneurship, the day-long event featured a keynote presentation by Cornell University/ILR School professor Marya Besharov and separate practitioner and academic panels.

On September 16, Isenberg alumni, students, faculty, and staff celebrated ground breaking for the school’s $62 million Business Innovation Hub. When the Business Innovation Hub does open in January of 2019, the futuristic building complex will add 70,000 square-feet of classrooms, labs, and student-focused spaces.
Cherington Joins Blue Jays as VP, Baseball Operations

Ben Cherington (MS 1997) has been named as Vice President of Baseball Operations for the Toronto Blue Jays. He will work with many facets of the front office’s baseball side, with an emphasis on player development. Cherington, began his career in 1998 with the Cleveland Indians as an advance scout, & led the Red Sox to a World Series championship in 2013 while serving as the Executive VP and GM.
