Biography:

Padma Ramanujam is a  member of the  R&D Optimization Group at SAS, a leading software developer for decision-making, in Cary, North Carolina. She was previously a Technical Architect at i2 Technologies Inc., a leading provider of supply chain management solutions, at corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas.

She received her BSc and MSc in Mathematics from the University of Madras, India. She was an Associate Professor at JBAS College for Women, University of Madras, India from 1989 to 1990. She received her Masters in Operations Research from Clemson University, South Carolina in 1993 and her PhD in Management Science from the School of Management at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1999.

In 1999, her dissertation won the Best Dissertation award from the Transportation Science Section of INFORMS.

At i2, she conceptualized, designed, and managed the evolution of an analytics solution for a Supply Chain Management (SCM) suite of products over a period of 2 years.  She then spent her energies in developing and implementing a replenishment planning and fulfillment solution for the retail industry.  

Her research interests are in Software Development and in Environmental Logistics and Business Applications of Supply Chain Management.
